A Sweet Start

12" × 12" Original Painting of A Sweet Start

This piece leans into that childlike sense of wonder the city can hold; where morning light pours in, powdered sugar feels like magic, and everything softens to something a little more colorful than it really is

I pushed the palette here, weaving in pinks, blues, and purples through the sugar and shadows, letting the scene feel less literal and more like a memory. It's a familiar moment; a little nostalgic, a little dreamlike, and rooted in those early impressions of New Orleans that tend to stay with you.
